Darksiders – The Game

Everyone knows or at least maybe not all, knows what apocalypse is, what is hell is and the hell on earth. With several games releasing this year, most of them debuting with biblical references, one game that would surely fireup those PS3’s is Darksiders.

THQ’s Darksiders is the first to take players into the end of days battling the demonic legions of hell and the overzealous armies of heaven.

If you have played God of War before, this one for sure is another addicting game. This awesome epic/adventure action game does not feel like a movie to be created on the future nor a comic book to be published but was wriiten by a good and well known comic book artist. It simply feels like a badass story meant to be played over and over again. With awesome fighting scenes and puzzle solving components, complemented by a fun set of weapons and tools that let you traverse the game world in varied and interesting ways.

The main character is from the biblical Book of Revelations; the horseman named “War,” who rides with his three compadres of the Apocalypse. Death, Famine and Pestilence. (but i havent seen their part of the game) “War” who is caught between the conspiracy of heaven and hell that resulted on earths destruction and he is being blamed for it, he has given a chance to come back to earth 100 years after the apocalypse and is proving himself that he is not the one to be blamed. The story is all about revenge not to save mankind but to seek the truth.

One of the strongest points of this game is the cinematics and the main character itself.  The assortment of demons, monsters, fallen angels and other apocalyptic creatures makes the gameplay really exciting.

The art style of the game is unique from so much imagery from heavy metal albums and other games like it in that it’s so brightly colored. The world of Darksiders may be a post-apocalyptic world filled with unimaginable monsters, it’s painted in bright, vibrant colors like a neon vision of hell. It’s strangely beautiful in its presentation and absolutely gorgeous in concept.

The Darksiders is available in PS3 only and hopefully would be available in PSP.  Still thinking of buying a PS3 but nevertheless knowing that there is a game matching God of War would a consideration.

Game Hard!
